Carmen's Trash the Dress: 15 years after the wedding

Carmen wanted us to do a TTD session with her. Her dress was already partially trashed because her basement had flooded and her dress had gotten mold on it. So we were more than happy to help her finish the job. We shot at her house, she lives on a wonderful location with a pond and fun trails in the woods behind her house. We took advantage of everything. Here are some of my favorite shots from the shoot. As I've said in previous posts, you don't have to trash the dress. We've just had clients that have decided to ruin theirs. TTD sessions tend to last 3 hours, with an average of 3 different scenes. If you are interested in a Trash the Dress (bridal) or a Rock the Frock (prom) session please call us at 309.837.3252 or email us at info@jacksonstreetphoto.com.

4th of July: Barbie and G.I. Joe Wedding

Ryan and I shot an awesome wedding on July 4th. There were many cool things about it, the bride and groom were incredibly nice, everything was non-traditional, and the cake was have camouflage and half Barbie pink. The groom is part of the bomb squad and has done one stint in Iraq already, and from what I know is going to be going back for another. The bride has been a nanny in NYC, and she looks like Barbie, but with tattoos. =] Here are a few fun pictures from the adventures of the day. This is Part One. I'll have Ryan's pics up later. He has a lot of fun pictures with the groomsmen and I like his ceremony pictures more.

Our First Trash the Dress Shoot

This TTD shoot happened in June and our model was the lovely Caitlyn Schoonover. I bought the dress from a Goodwill store in Bettendorf, IA for $15. We took her to Argyle State Park and started shooting. We progressively got the dress dirtier until we could wait no longer and got her in the lake. If you are interested in a Trash the Dress (bridal) or Rock the Frock (prom) session, please contact us at 309.837.3252 or email us at info@jacksonstreetphoto.com. Sessions average to about 3 hours long. You do not have to actually trash your dress. Most TTD sessions are just wearing your dress in places you wouldn't think of seeing one. But if you do want to trash it then we are more than happy to help. =]

Interlude

Every blog has it's first blog post. They're usually awkward so I'm going to make this as quick and painless as possible. Jackson Street Photography is a photography studio based out of Macomb, Illinois and is run by Anna Kleinkopf and Ryan Sykes (Soon to be Anna Sykes, so watch out for that!) We do weddings, senior pictures, children and family portraits, and most things in between. We cover a wide-range, shooting from St. Louis to Chicago, Indianapolis to Iowa City, and all that's inbetween (but we will go farther if you want!) We also shoot destination weddings, so far our staff has traveled to Mexico and Jamaica. Our style is offbeat, nontraditional. You'll like us.
